Carolina Golf News Today

Established January, 2003

About Us

About Us

The Carolina Golf News Today is the child of the Unifour Golf Magazine that was started in January, 2003. The Unifour Golf Magazine started out as a monthly printed product that eventually grew to 30,000 copies that were home delivered in the four counties of Alexander, Burke, Caldwell and Catawba-thus the name Unifour.

The principle goal of the Unifour Golf Magazine was to shine a spotlight on anything to do with amateur golf in the hopes that notoriety would be a magnet to draw more people to the wonderful game of golf. That included club news of any sort, middle school golf, high school golf, local college golf and golf tournaments of all verities.

We discovered that as the years went by the kids we covered in middle school were the ones we covered in high school and would be the same ones we would cover in college. In between, we also covered the kids that played in a lot of the state and regional golf tournaments as they were building their golf resumes. This proved to be very successful as the parents called wanting additional copies to be sent out to all of the relatives. Yes indeed the spotlight is a great magnet.

Now we are going to do the same thing except on a larger scale. The Carolina Golf News Today will cover the entire state of North Carolina. This is where our readers can help us out. We ask that our readers get with their club pros and ask them to begin feeding us anything of interest no matter how insignificant it may sound. Also, ask your club to buy an inexpensive digital camera in order to add photos to the submissions.

We have contacted every high school in North Carolina. When we contacted them we asked each of the coaches to contact the coaches of the Middle schools that feed into their high school program and make them aware of what we are doing. Eventually we will have reports from all across the state from both the high school and middle school golf programs. Next we are going to make contact with every college and university in North Carolina. As we move into 2010 we will also make a solid effort to contact all of the independent schools in North Carolina.

We are working towards making The Carolina Golf News Today your portal to the Golf World. Our format will be similar to a newspaper meaning that we will be updating it everyday except Saturdays. By doing this we are hoping that you our readers will be into our website every day. There will be a "Front Page" for the "Big Story" and the rest of the story will be found in the section of the newspaper where the story originates from.

The Carolina Golf News Today will have a front page and three regional front pages. The highest ranked amateur golf stories will be the lead with several of the next highest ranked amateur golf stories. Each story with have a headline, photo and a few paragraphs with the rest of the story thrown back to the regional page that the golf stories originated from. Each of the regional pages will have its own headline with those continuations from the Front Page filling in the body of each of the regional pages.

The Carolina Golf News Today will have a single classified section that will cover the entire state letting  you the reader unload those retired clubs, buy, sell and rent real estate as well as anything else. The Classified section will work just like the ones you see in most daily newspapers.

For the traveling golfer the Carolina Golf News Today will have a course directory accompanied by recommended places of  "Where to Eat" and "Where to Stay"  while on your golfing safari. The Carolina Golf News Today is set up into three regions titled the East Region, Central Region and the West Region. Each region will have its own golf directory along with where to eat and stay recommendations.

The Unifour Golf Magazine has been invited to hundreds of club openings and that will continue but as the Carolina Golf News Today. We will do full articles on new club openings as well as golfing real-estate developments. Anything to do with golf news in the state of North Carolina will be covered and reported on.

There is no way a printed product could attempt what the Carolina Golf News Today is going to accomplish. With your support we will have a top shelf product that will make you proud to come on board. You too can be a part of this great effort by sending in your own stories, photos etc. Welcome aboard and may you always keep it in the short grass.
