The Unifour Golf Magazine started out as a
printed publication that was home delivered
eventually reaching 30,000 homes throughout the
Unifour area. The main purpose of the Unifour Golf
Magazine was to shine a larger spotlight on
amateur golf in the Unifour area. That was
everything from middle school golf, high school
golf, charity events, local club events and
college golf.
When area high schools qualified for NCHSAA
state matches the Unifour Golf Magazine followed
them and reported back. As the kids moved on into
college the Unifour Golf Magazine followed them
and reported back to their home communities on
their accomplishments. However, being a printed
product and a once a month publication as is most
golf publications are the news was stale by the
time it was delivered. So two years ago the
Unifour Golf Magazine began toying around with an
internet publication and on January 1, 2009 the
Unifour Golf Magazine stopped producing the
printed product and went to a strictly internet
product that updated six days a week bringing
fresh and timely news of people and events in NC
golf with most of the emphases still on the
Unifour area.
The management at Millican Publishing Co. is
not a group of people that sits around waiting for
things to happen. With the success of going to the
internet with the Unifour Golf Magazine the idea
of covering all of the state began to bubble up
and is now just a short while away from making its
debut.
